Description

Our jewellery items of the medieval period are no art copies. The casts are authentic replicas prepared from handcrafted originals reproduced in the according antique style (Celtic, Byzantine, Gothic or Viking)
This Pendant was custom-made in 925Ag Sterling Silver as Medieval Russian Viking Needle Case from 12th century Dark Ages reproduced from a photo, original at the Leningrad Hermitage Museum

Each of the 15 pieces of the pendant is cast in 925Ag Sterling Silver or Bronze, total length 7.5cm extending to 5.3cm width
7 double links looking like swivels attached to an open tube with Viking spiral decoration,
carrying 7 bell shapes, believed to ward off evil or have been used in Medieval times to attach several threaded bead hangings.
Treasured hand-carved bone sewing needles were wrapped in a piece of cloth and stuck into the tube, which firmly held it in place and were always at hand as sewing kit.
The pendant is attached in three places to a doubled flat black leather strip with adjustable knot closure.
