The Scarlet Anthurium brooch
The Scarlet Anthurium Brooch
I love the challenge of interpreting the beautiful flowers and plants I see into wearable art. I try to capture the vibrancy and life in each piece which usually involves a lot of etching and hand inking.
In my last work I have produced five of my favourite flowers.
This is the regal Scarlet Anthurium: This flower seems to be made of such a strange material. When I was a child my mother grew them in the garden and I thought she had planted plastic flowers! They bring a bright focus to a vase of greenery and they are long-lasting as well. They are sometimes called the flamingo flower or the laceleaf.
The brooch measures approx 5×8.4 cm.
I ship as soon as the product is complete. Sometimes I have to customise a piece for a customer. Usually orders ship within 102 weeks of purchase. If there is a delay I will discuss it with you.
I use Australia Post for all shipping and I use tracking on all parcels.
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
COVID update: Acrylic supply is slower at present and as I make my items as they are ordered (so I can customise if necessary) there may be some longer making times. theOttopiary continues to ship to all countries, however please be advised that international and some domestic shipping is being impacted by COVID restrictions. A word about pricing.....
Many people ask how I decide on the prices for my pieces. All of my works are priced according to design time, materials cost, time to assemble and the amount of intricate working such as ink rubbing or painting involved. Custom pieces cost extra due to design time additions.
I try to keep my prices as reasonable as I can as I want theOttopiary curiosities to be accessible to all purchasers.
