WHO ARE YOU ? We often get asked who we are, what we do & why salts? well…….

We are Sally & Emma or as we are better known Sal & Em. Partners in business, life & love.

Sal has over 30 (!!) years experience retail management & is currently a commercial real estate agent in Sale. Lover of animals great & small, travelling & being an Aunty to a tribe of nieces & nephews. Sal does majority of our deliveries & can assure all salts are enthusiastically sung to with 80’s classics.

Em is a born & bred Sale girl ! Working in many local hospo venues over the years as a barista, restaurant manager & chef. Currently the Executive Chef of The Criterion Hotel, Sale @crihotelsale “Winner of the 2021 AHA Victorian Regional Hotel of The Year”. You may already follow her on instagram @the_unqualifiedchef. Lover of gin, gardening, doggos & art.

Cooking with salt, using brines, cures & confit salts is something Em’s done for years, as well as making flavoured salts. The cocktail salts come from a love of Margarita’s & sunshine.

When covid hit & we were forced into lockdown after lockdown, we decided to take this passion & turn it into a side hustle. With our first orders going out in early September 2021 we have been amazed & humbled with how our little company has taken off. We now have over 15 stockist & work with many more amazing companies. Not to mention being able to support other local businesses & buy off them.

Living in Gippsland means there will be fires and floods, over the past years everyone has been affected or knows someone who has been affected by Mother Nature’s fury. Lives have been lost and homes & businesses destroyed. Because of this we use as much local produce as we can from the beautiful Gunaikurnai Country we live on, to support our local community……….. & are proud to show off Gippsland.

All in all we are just a couple of ‘salt shakers’, doing what we love, E & S.
